Welcome and thank you for attending my Super Predictable Action-packed Special Touching Innovative Comforting[SPASTIC] Preaching session! There are currently 0 people who are online reading this, besides you:] Title: Heros Preacher: Me, Of Course Ripped from: Dominic They are alot of heros in the Bible, from those who fought wars to those who did not fight any wars, but there is a group of people who also helped in the bible, but they were never given the title: Heros, one example was Epaphroditus (Apple-fro-dit-thurs) Epaphroditus was just another on-fire christian! It was a common name! it means the favourite of Aphrodite another common word! Just like "sian"! Imagine those people sayin,"wah! Epaphroditus lah, today never blah blah blah." If you would read Philipians 2:25 "Yet i considered it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, but your messenger and the one who ministered to my need" you would see that the person who sent Epaphroditus to help Paul who was under house arrest by the romans, he helped by bringing food to Paul. Philipians 2:26-30 "26 Since he was longing for you all,and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick. 27 For indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest i should have sorrow upon sorrow. 28 therefore, i sent him the more eagerly, that when you see him again you may rejoice, and i may be less sorrowful. 29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such men in esteem; 30 because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me" It shows that 1-There was an attitude of sacrifice in Epaphroditus[Epaphroditus was just another common church member, yet he did not regard his life and brought food for the person who was under house arrest ] John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends" When you give up one of your own need, that will become sacrifice. 2- And more than an attitude of sacrifice it was towards the needs of the kingdom of God! Paul built the largest church in mankind and he was one of the founders of the church yet he called Epaphroditus his fellow worker! 3- Epaphroditus had an attitude of sacrifice towards others Epaphroditus -An Unsung Hero- |
